This article provides instructions to enable/disable Closed Captions (CC) in the SBB View Amino STB, set CC for a single channel, and report CC issues to Summit Broadband.
Enable/Disable CC | CC on One Channel | Report CC Issues |
Enable Closed Captions in the SBB View menu
- While watching any show, press the Home key on your SBB View remote and navigate to Settings.
- Press the OK button and navigate to System.
- Press the OK button and navigate to Accessibility.
- Press the OK button and navigate to Captions.
- Press the OK button and toggle the Display setting On or Off.
NOTE: When the slider is Blue, the setting is On; when the slider is Gray, the setting is Off.
Enable captions on a single channel
If customers call saying that Closed Captions are not working, use the following procedure.
- Verify Closed Captions are enabled in the SBB View Settings menu (follow instructions above).
- If closed captions are not appearing on a particular channel, verify if the CC icon appears on the channel banner.
NOTE: The CC icon is not available on all shows; Summit Broadband cannot control which shows offer CC and which ones do not.
-
IMPORTANT REMINDER: If the CC icon does not appear, then having CC active will not populate captions on the channel. See banner below for an example of a show that does not offer CC service.
- If the CC icon does appear on the banner but closed captions are not populating, the customer can quickly activate them for the show by using the SBB View Remote. Just press the Down Arrow button.
-
REMINDER: this shortcut only works when Closed Captions are active in the Settings menu and when the CC icon appears in the channel banner.
- To Turn off CC on a program when it isn't wanted, press the Up Arrow button on the SBB View Remote.
