If your property receives signal from Summit Broadband through a coax cable, you should have an MTA that provides both Voice and Internet signal. If you have a router, you’ll need to reboot the router as well.
To reboot both a router and a phone modem (MTA)
- Unplug the router.
- Unplug the MTA power cord.
- If your MTA has a battery installed, remove the battery and wait at least 15 seconds.
- Reinsert the battery.
- Plug the MTA back in, and wait for your MTA to initialize fully. That process should take about 5 minutes.
- Plug in the power to your router, and wait about two minutes to ensure that you have reestablished a connection.
- Attempt to browse the Internet or make a phone call.
To reboot an MTA not connected to a router
- Unplug the MTA power cord.
- If your MTA has a battery installed, remove the battery and wait at least 15 seconds.
- Reinsert the battery.
- Plug the MTA back in, and wait for your MTA to initialize fully. That process should take about 5 minutes.
- Attempt to browse the Internet or make a phone call.
