Enabling Motion alerts
When Motion alerts are enabled, push notifications will be sent to your device whenever the system detects motion. These notifications will only be sent when nobody is at home, therefore it is important to assign a primary device to everyone to ensure the Plume Home network can properly determine if everyone has left.
- Open the Settings page and tap on the Notifications tile.
- Turn the Motion toggle on.
- The toggle will only appear if motion detection is enabled.
- Choose the Time between alerts.
- This sets the minimum interval option (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour) between notifications when motion is detected.

Motion Live Views
The Plume Home app has two places to view live motion.
- Scroll down to the Activity area at the bottom of the Home screen.
- Under the Motion tab, the Live view will display where motion is currently happening
- Devices near where motion is detected will be displayed surrounded by a circle graph.
- The circle graph represents the intensity of motion near each device.
- When there currently is no motion, a generic graphic is displayed.
- Tapping on the area will open the Motion page with another Live motion graph.
- The height of the bars in the graph displays the motion intensity of each device currently detecting motion.
- Up to 5 devices detecting motion are displayed in the Live motion graph.
Motion history
The Plume Home app allows you to view up to a 7-day history of motion.
- Scroll down to the Activity area at the bottom of the Home screen.
- Under the Motion tab, the Live view will display where the motion is currently happening.
- Tap on the Live view to open the Motion page.
- Tap the 24h or 7 days tabs to view their respective graphs.
Interpreting the motion graphs
- Depending on the graph displayed, each bar represents either 1 hour (24h graph) or 6 hours (7 days graph).
- Tapping on a bar provides detail about that period.
- The height of each bar in the graph represents the intensity of the motion during the period.
- The color of each bar indicates the state of the motion detection system during the period.
- Blue - Motion was detected, but people are home.
- Red - Motion was detected and everyone is away. Motion alerts would have been sent during this time.
- Grey - Motion detection was disabled.
