This is caused by a mismatch between the Program and System Information Protocol (PSIP) standard used by the TV manufacturer and the standard adopted by Summit Broadband.
Networks are assigned to specific channels in the Summit Broadband service area using an industry-standard PSIP. Since PSIP is an industry and not a regulatory standard, not all companies are required to implement the same protocol.
Many TV manufacturers offer firmware fixes that can update the software on a Digital Television to fix PSIP channel mapping issues. There are two ways you can try to get this update for your TV:
- Visit the website for your TV manufacturer (LG, Sony, Samsung, etc.) and search for instructions on downloading firmware updates.
- Click here to access a form letter to send to your TV manufacturer.
